Selecting a GTscales Axle Load Control System

For proper operation of the weight control system and the GTscales axle load, it is very important to determine the system configuration, that is, to determine the number of sensors in the sensor units of the tractor and trailer, and where the sensors are connected to the air suspension system of the tractor and trailer.

To do this, determine the number of circuits in the air suspension of the tractor and trailer. Start the tractor, inflate the air bags, bring the air suspension system to the transport position and stop the tractor. Then disconnect the pneumatic tube from one of the pneumatic bellows of the tractor. When the air tube is turned off, all air bags located on this circuit will descend. Next, disconnect the tubes from the air bags, which remain inflated, while remembering all the air bags that were lowered. Thus, you determine the number of circuits in the air suspension of your tractor and the location of the air bags included in each circuit.

To determine the number of circuits in the trailer air suspension system, repeat this operation for the trailer.

Once the pneumatic circuit of the tractor and trailer has been determined, it is necessary to determine the points of connection of the onboard weighing system and the load on the GTScale axle to the air suspension system. To obtain maximum measurement accuracy, it is desirable to connect the system to each air suspension circuit. With such a connection, the influence of external factors (road irregularities, slopes and tilt of the train to the left or right, the placement of cargo relative to the central axis of the trailer) on the weighing results are minimized.
